Hands on learning at Monteria Village – 27th January, 2026

Picnic’s and excursions offer students a chance to learn in a fun-filled environment, allowing them to explore new places, bond with friends, and gain hands-on experience. On January 27, 2026, students from Classes V to IX , embarked on an exciting and educational trip to Monteria Village, Navi Mumbai. A total of 434 students, accompanied by 24 dedicated teachers, participated in this refreshing outing, making it a truly unforgettable experience.

The day began early, with students boarding comfortable, a buses at 8:20 am. The atmosphere inside the buses was lively, filled with laughter, singing, and excitement. The 45-minute journey flew by in no time, as students eagerly anticipated the activities planned for the day.

Upon arrival, students were warmly greeted with refreshing drinks and a delicious breakfast. Energized and ready, they were eager to explore the itinerary filled with engaging activities that combined education, culture, and recreation. The day’s activities began with a manure-making session, where students learnt about the importance of earthworms in composting. They observed how organic waste is converted into nutrient-rich manure, gaining valuable insights into sustainable farming.

Next, the students participated in basket-making, a hands-on activity that showcased their creativity while introducing them to traditional crafts. The excitement continued with a captivating puppet show, where fascinating stories were brought to life, sparking curiosity and imagination among the children. Following this, a magic show left them in awe as they watched intriguing tricks and illusions unfold.

One of the highlights of the trip was the pottery session. Guided by skilled artisans, students eagerly moulded clay into beautiful artefacts, experiencing the joy of creating something with their own hands.

A serene walk through the Nakshatra Garden followed, providing a moment of calm amidst nature’s beauty. The children explored different plants and their significance, making the walk both informative and relaxing. The fun continued with swings and other play areas, where students laughed, ran, and enjoyed carefree moments with their friends.

Post-lunch activities included thrilling tractor rides, which gave students a taste of rural life. Outdoor games such as cricket, tug of war, heavy spinner moves, and whittling the wheel added to the excitement. These activities encouraged teamwork, coordination, and friendly competition.

A refreshing high tea session rejuvenated everyone before the final treat of the day – ice cream! The children’s faces lit up with joy as they enjoyed their favourite dessert, marking the perfect conclusion to a day filled with learning and fun.

At 4:15 pm, students boarded the buses for the return journey that was filled with lively conversations, songs, and reflections on the day’s adventures. The trip to Monteria Village was more than just a picnic — it was an enriching experience that blended education, culture, and recreation seamlessly. The students not only enjoyed themselves but also gained practical knowledge, learned new skills, and bonded with their peers and teachers.
