MAHARASHTRA DAY AND LABOUR DAY CELEBRATIONS
Maharashtra Day celebrates the statehood, legacy and culture of Maharashtra. It has a special significance in Maharashtra. It was on this day in 1960 that the state came into existence after it was carved out of the Bombay State. People of the Marathi-speaking state celebrate this day as Maharashtra Day or Mahatashtra Diwas. It is one of the most important days for the state.
Maharashtra Day, which falls on the same day as the International Labour Day, was gloriously celebrated on 1st May 2024 in St Isabel’s High School.
The celebrations started off with green welcome of the chief guest by the school band. The flag was hoisted followed by the National anthem. The teachers graced the event by presenting a group song singing the glory of Marathi culture and heritage and also performed the lexim. The chief guest addressed the students and told them about the glory of Maharashtra and also gave the importance of Labour Day.
